Blackjack Strategy Tips

Blackjack Strategy

Just like the strategic power of video poker, blackjack is equally as responsive when played with a basic strategy. Although a novice blackjack strategy won't allow you to crush the casino it will reduce the house advantage and put you a step ahead of most casual gamers.

If you're looking for a way to play blackjack with a very simple gaming-edge, try implementing the 4 steps to successfully analysing the dealer's hand, below:

1. Analyse the deal and check the dealer's 'face-up card'. Is it a 7 or higher? If it is, keep hitting until your combo is worth 17 or more (or alternatively, a soft-18 which refers to a hand where the Ace is scored as an 11).

2. Check the casino's face-up card. Is the card 6 or less? If it is – hit for cards to boost your score to 12 or more (stop hitting on 12 or higher).

3. The double-down is fun and potentially powerful – so make sure you use it more like a pro; double bet if your initial 2 card combo scores 10 or 11, and the house has a 9 card or lower.

4. It's highly advisable to always split aces and 8's (and not to split any other combos).

If Blackjack sounds too complicated and you'd prefer a game that doesn't require as much strategising but just as much if not more fun, then why not try a game of Craps?
