Player Security Priority
When it comes to playing online, whether it be at casinos, poker or bingo rooms, gambling patrons value security above all else.
A recent study conducted by Verisign indicates that 85% of player's top priority when considering a casino, poker or bingo room is the trust factor when it comes to signing up and sharing personal information.
The results show that brands who were not perceived as being protective over their customers information were seen as "distrustful" (56%), and made visitors feel "disappointed" (17%)and "betrayed" (13%). The survey also revealed that
every fifth participant is engaging in fewer online activities due to security concerns.
In order to protect themselves, 62% of site visitors look for the security lock icon in the address bar and 55% for a logo or seal denoting regulation and web security (eg. eCogra, Datacash)
These indications highlight just how important it is for online entities to ensure the safety and security of their visitors as well as educate them on the latest additions and advancements to the technology they are using to keep confidential information private and fraud at bay.
Most good casinos are doing just that. With regular updates in player newsletters as well as continuous improvement of security and fraud prevention systems, as well as adherence to codes of conduct enforced by gaming boards in their country of license as well as monitoring bodies like eCogra, players can rest assured that casinos displaying these criteria ensure a safe and enjoyable experience all round.
